Bed and Breakfast in Valpolicella
Mario and Anne welcome guests to their Italian/English family home in Negrar, near Verona , Lake Garda and the Dolomite mountains. We offer accommodation in large double/triple rooms with private bathroom. The rooms have tea and coffee-making facilities, TV and use of fridge, free Internet access and balcony. Car parking is available at no extra charge. We serve a full continental breakfast in the comfortable living-room or in the garden in summer.
Negrar is a traditional old town in a beautiful valley in the Valpolicella area with a lively market on Mondays. The town centre is five minutes' walk from the house, and is famous for its pizzerias and restaurants.
The area is well known for the production of Valpolicella wine, including top of the market 'Amarone' and 'Recioto'. We are happy to arrange visits to the local 'cantine' and often take our guests to visit small local vineyards and wineries which produce excellent Amarone and Recioto wine but are not on the main wine-tasting circuits.
Negrar is only 10 km from Verona , with its opera season in the Arena (June to August) and its jazz festival in the Roman Theatre in June. For opera lovers, we can arrange taxi transport at the end of the opera for about €30.
Our B&B is also convenient for Verona's Trade Fairs, including the world-famous Vinitaly in April (book early to find any accommodation in the area!) as well as the International Exhibition of Marble, Stone and Technology, the International Horse Fair in November and the Agriculture Fair in February.
We live only half an hour from Lake Garda with its many attractions, such as Gardaland for all the family, Canevaworld for fun in the water and many other parks and zoos . Our favourite is Villa dei Cedri, a wonderful place for a day out with a beautiful park, pools and a lake with warm thermal water - ideal for total relaxation.
We also recommend visiting other towns in the north east of Italy :
Venice is easy by train - you arrive in the centre of town where you take the no.1 waterboat down the Grand Canal to St. Mark's Square. Other towns well worth visiting are Rovereto, Trento and Bolzano to the north, Mantua, Modena and Bologna to the south, Vicenza and Padua to the east (and then Venice ) and Brescia and Bergamo to the west.
We will be pleased to help you organise your stay with us. Just email us on info@parry.it and we will advise you about how to plan your trip and the best days out in the area.
